Harper’s Bazaar has revealed its 19 places to visit in 2019, which includes Japan, the Scottish Highlands, Israel and Cambodia among others.

2. Ctrip invests in hotel manufacturer

Ctrip has invested in Yunji Technology, a Beijing-based company that makes robots for a variety of industries, including hotels. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Ctrip says the collaboration is part of its artificial intelligence strategy, which kicked off in March 2017 with the launch of its “Easy Stay” smart hotel solution.

3. Google Assistant intros new travel feature at CES

A new feature for Google Assistant will allow travellers to use the voice agent to check in for flights, the company announced at CES. Domestic travellers on United Airlines can say “Hey Google, check in to my flight” to automatically be checked in.

4. Macau rises to become 5th most popular city destination

Macau was the fifth most visited city in the world in 2017, according to the latest Euromonitor International Top 100 City Destinations report, behind Hong Kong, Bangkok, London and Singapore. Following a 10.4% increase in the number of visitors in 2017 and a projected 9.2% in 2018, the Macau special administrative region rose one place in this year’s rankings.
